Founding member and incorporator. Resty holds a BSc degree in Commerce, Cum Laude. He is a Philippine Certified Public Accountant and a Canadian Certified General Accountant. He is a founding member and incorporator of Kalayaan Centre.

Past President of Culture Philippines of Ontario and Association of Filipino Canadian Accountants,former Director of Cerfified General Accountants of Ontario and past Chair of CGA Peel Chapter, Director of Carassauga Festival Inc, 1st Vice President, Meadowvale Charity Bingo Association and Executive Vice President of the Pangasinan Association of North America. He is an AU6 Large File Case Manager for Canada Revenue Agency. He was the chairman of Kalayaan and the Spirit of Kalayaan that celebrated the centennial of the Philippine Independence in 1998 from which the KCCC initial funding of $120,000 was realized.

He is married to Luz Sabater and has two children, Jonathan and Justine.

A 5 term member of the board, Chito is the volunteer 'extraordinaire' always there to lend a hand, to build the hardwood floor, to DJ for events, to paint the Centre, to cook for the hungry walkathon participants, find donors and sponsors.

Chito with Dr. Romulo Sinajon and Edgar Frondozo are the guarantors of the KCCC mortgage that brought down the interest from the original 9.5% to %3.75 in 2000.

Chito has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and works at Petra Ltd. He teaches at Centennial College and is active in the Toronto Building Maintenance Association. His hobby is singing and listening to fine music.

Judy Montenegro 3.jpg Vice President, Program Administration Judy Montenegro

Judy is a 4 term member of the KCCC board and has served as Secretary in her last 3 terms. Prior to serving on the board, she has been actively involved as a volunteer at Kalayaan Centre for several years.

Judy has been one of the most effective fund raisers of KCCC having successfully solicited major sponsors to KCCC activities and events, including the Annual Golf Tournament.

Del.jpg Auditor Delfin Palileo

Del is a Chemical Engineer, an alumnus of the University of the Philippines. He is an active community leader in the Greater Toronto Area. He is the president of the Mississauga Cooksville Club that donated $25,000 to the KCCC building fund. Del manages the KCCC Bingo activity which brings in some $2,000/month for KCCC utilities and other maintenance expenses.

He is also president of the Filipino Athletic Association of Brampton, immediate past president and chairman of the Board of the Silayan Community Centre and was president of the Federation of Filipino Canadians of Brampton.

Del is soft-spoken, modest and is willing to roll-up his sleeves and help in whatever task there is to be done for KCCC. He lives in Brampton with his wife, Marlene. They have three children and two grandchildren.

Edgar, with the help of Dr. Romy Sinajon and Luis "Chito" Carbonell as guarantors negotiated with TD Canada Trust the transfer of KCCC mortgage in 2009. The transfer reduced the interest rate and saved KCCC over $30,000/year in interest payments. Also in 2009, Edgar started the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system raising $1,000/month in donations for KCCC.

The first KCCC Golf Classic tournaments was launched in 2008 by Mama Ching with Edgar, Evelyn Laraya and Mars Cebrero coordinating the activities. The KCCC Golf Classic has become the premier fund raising event of KCCC raising an average of $6,000/year. Edgar also published and edited the KCCC Newsletter NAYON from 2009 to 2012.

A five term member of the board, Edgar is Managing Director of Slingshot VoIP, a cloud based telecom service provider. Edgar has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Mapua. In 2000 he was one of The Outstanding Mapuan (TOM) award recipients.

This is Lumi's 2nd term as a member of the board. Soft spoken and quiet, she goes about her work efficiently and surely. She chairs and run KCCC events successfully like the annual New Years Eve celebration.

Lumi is the widow of former KCCC Board Member Ben Montada. Ben through Lumi donated a considerable amount to KCCC when Ben died in 2013.

Lumi is a retired nurse.

Eula is the current President of Kalayaan Filipino Cultural Organization. A Chemical Engineer, she is an IT professional. She is an active member of MapĂșans Ontario. A knowledgeable and hardworking individual, she brings to the Centre technical expertise and organizational skills.

Dr. Romy, opened a free medical clinic at the KCCC shortly after he took office to serve newcomers to Canada and those who have no medical insurance coverage. He is a generous contributor to KCCC.

Dr. Romy with Chito Carbonell and Edgar Frondozo are the guarantors of the KCCC mortgage loan that enabled the KCCC to negotiate to reduce the interest rate from 9.5% to 3.75% in 2000.

Originally from Cebu, he is married to Virginia from Bohol, a nurse. They have four sons, two of them are following the footsteps of their father, studying to become a medical doctor.

Jojo is the quintessential centre volunteer. She is the Admin Assistant, building administrator, event facilities coordinator, Mama Ching's personal assistant, cook, driver and all around player. She helps whenever and wherever help is needed.
