Information Session - Consular Services, SSS and Pag-ibig

Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre (KCCC) would like to invite Filipino-Canadians in the Greater Toronto Area to an information session from 9 am-12 noon on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Kalayaan Centre.

In line with the Kalayaan Centre’s mandate to provide relevant and useful information to Filipino-Canadians, KCCC has invited representatives from the Philippine Consulate General to talk about the consular services provided by the Philippine Consulate in Toronto.

An overview of the available consular services such as Philippine citizenship reacquisition and retention, reporting of vital events pertaining to a Filipino citizen, such as birth, marriage, and death will be provided.

Deputy Consul General Bernadette Therese Fernandez and Consul Edna Mae Lazaro will be providing the overview and will be available to answer inquiries and review documents.

A representative from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (covering Department of Labor and Employment and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration) will also be available to provide information about their services and respond to inquiries.

In addition, representatives from the Social Security System and Home Development Mutual Fund [Pag-IBIG] will also be present to discuss these Philippine government programs and inform Filipino-Canadians of the opportunity to become members on a voluntary basis or reactivate membership and enjoy the benefits available only to SSS and Pag-IBIG members. If you have lived or worked in the Philippines, or you are the survivor of someone who has lived or worked in the Philippines, you may be eligible for pensions or benefits from SSS and Pag-IBIG.
